ON THE JB PERFORMING ARTS FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
The Julie Borromeo’s Performing Arts Foundation formerly Dance Arts Studio has been running for 56 years with it’s dance classes in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Flamenco, etc. , and now with it’s performing arts curriculum in acting and singing. But little has been mentioned about the true lifeblood of the school and the reason why it truly exists and that is the scholarship program it has always held so dear from the very start. It started with Julie Borrome’s own house hold from her family and relatives, to the families and relatives of her employees like the Mabaquiaos, Comeros, Ramos, Natividads, Braganzas , who are the few among so many, and has extended itself beyond its neighboring community.
Miguel Braganza (Broadway USA), Mario Recto (Chicago USA), Bobby Ongkiko (USA), Tony Salamat (Europe) are among so many more that have been the success stories of Julie Borromeo’s scholarship program. Today the school continues to develop both girls and boys of 3 years old to 30 year olds or even those who are still young and strong at heart and body, with talent and passion for the performing arts.
Whether needing support to hone talent or just simply talented and would like to further the gift , the JBPAF Scholarship Program is there to help develop these. Right now the program has divided into 2 departments … for those who would rather just dance and for those who would like to do musical theater which includes musical theater dance.
